Generic repair databases know what every vehicle does. They don't know what yours did last Tuesday.

Keep ALLDATA, Mitchell 1 or Identifix. You need OEM diagrams and labour times, and we don't publish them. This is about the gap they leave: your own network's experience, and the technician who has to walk across the workshop to read anything.

Who this is for

Dealer groups, franchised networks and independent workshops running ALLDATA, Mitchell 1 ProDemand or Identifix Direct-Hit, and wondering where AI actually fits.

What they do well

ALLDATA delivers OEM data exactly as the manufacturer published it, the safest source for late-model electrical work. Mitchell 1 ProDemand has the better interface, redrawn colour wiring diagrams and SureTrack real-world fixes in one view. Identifix Direct-Hit built its reputation on confirmed fixes and a hotline to a specialist when the database runs dry. Mature, deep products that techs have relied on for twenty years.

What FieldPal Find adds

FieldPal Find grounds every answer in your own material: manufacturer service bulletins, technical instructions, and your network's repair history. The technician asks out loud, at the vehicle, hands still in the engine bay, and gets an answer from your own documentation rather than a list of documents to go and read.

Head to head

Run them alongside each other. The subscription answers how the system is built. Find answers what your network has learned about this fault, and what to check first.

The argument

The two gaps

They are generic, and your problem is specific. A repair database contains what happens to that model across the whole parc. It doesn’t contain what happened at your sites, on your fleet, with your customers, last month. The pattern your master technician recognises instantly, because they have seen it eleven times since the model launched, isn’t in ALLDATA. It’s in their head, and in your job history.

They require a workstation and two hands. The technician is under a vehicle. The database is on a PC across the workshop. So they walk over, type, read, walk back, and try to hold it in memory. Or they don’t bother, and phone the one person in the network who knows.

The call to the master tech, answered instantly

“The computer’s flagging an overheat. Do I check the heating system or the HV battery first?”

“Check the heating box first. There’s a bulletin covering this, and the network has seen it fourteen times.”

That is the escalation call, answered without the call, and without the technician taking their hands out of the engine bay.

And the warranty paperwork

FieldPal Capture handles the other end of the job. The technician describes the work by voice and the structured record is built from what they said, at the vehicle, while the detail is fresh.

For warranty claims that matters commercially, not just administratively. Claims are rejected for thin narrative and missing evidence, and thin narrative is exactly what you get when the write-up happens two days later from memory. Manufacturer submission windows are unforgiving.

Keep your repair database

We mean this. Find doesn’t carry OEM schematics and isn’t trying to.

Which one is right for you

You still need a repair subscription for

  • OEM wiring diagrams and circuit references
  • Published labour times for estimating and warranty
  • Manufacturer procedures for late-model electrical work
  • Component locations and torque figures

Add FieldPal Find for

  • What your own network has already seen on this fault
  • Answers at the vehicle, without walking to a workstation
  • Hands-free questions on a head-mounted device
  • Warranty narrative captured while the detail is still fresh

See it on your own bulletins and job history

Give us a set of service bulletins and a slice of your job history. We'll show your technicians asking real questions and getting answers from your own material, hands free.
